LEADING THE FORTHCOMING TRENDS IN CINEMA AND PRO DV SEGMENT, CANON ANNOUNCES A LEADING-EDGE PROJECT ‘FUTURE BROADCASTING’

A pioneering project in association with Avid/Real Image, Western Digital, LiveU to showcase state-of-the-art solutions in the segment

Ushering in a new era for Cinema and PRO DV segment in India, Canon announces the launch of its pioneering and extensive project ‘Future Broadcasting’. The project is being rolled out in association with leading industry experts in the domain, including Avid/Real Image (a division of Qube Cinema Technologies), Western Digital and LiveU, among others.

The activities planned under the aegis of the campaign are workshops and events, designed to give hands on experience on products like Cinema EOS C200, Cinema EOS C300 Mark II and XA 15 & XF 405. The objective of this project is to get industry professionals demonstrate the workflow of these best in breed solutions, confirming that these solutions will lead the forthcoming trends in the Cinema and PRO DV segment.

Commenting on the growing trend and demand for better solutions in Cinema and PRO DV segment, Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India, said, “With innovation embedded deep in our DNA, at Canon we believe in staying ahead of the approaching trends. We aim to make our solutions easily accessible to the aspiring masses, thus staying true to our commitment of customer delight and regional penetration.”

The demonstration would be organized for target audiences, including English News Gathering, News channels, Regional Channels, GEC, Film Institutes, Defence, Documentary genres etc.

Further elaborating on their partnership with Canon, Sathish Kumar.P, General Manager of Real Image (a division of Qube Cinema Technologies), said, “Real Image along with Avid is happy to partner with Canon for this exclusive workshop and tap the broadcast markets in the North East and introduce the Avid products to these markets. Real Image will present an overview of the Avid Media Composer editing application and Avid Newsroom workflows. Avid Storage, Asset Management, Cloud based and Social Media Workflows will also be highlighted in the presentation. We will also showcase Media Composer | First. The free-to-use Media Composer | First provides users with a comprehensive yet simple editing toolset with many of the same features and functionality that award-winning Media Composer editors rely on, in a new powerful, streamlined interface.”

Real Image is a division of Qube Cinema Technologies and a leading provider of technology in the film, video and audio domains and has pioneered several technology revolutions over the last 29 years. The company has a vast experience in the broadcast, post production and exhibition industries and is the Indian representative of several leading global broadcast brands.

Talking about the evolution of video transmission units and its association with Canon, Yaal Eshel, VP Sales, LiveU said, “Since LiveU invented cellular bonding in 2006, the company’s portable live video transmission units have replaced traditional SNG trucks, offering far greater mobility and cost-effectiveness for global newsgathering. The inaugural event of the project was held in Guwahati on the 22nd of January, followed by Imphal on the 24th of January. Next session would be held at Bhubaneswar in February.
